Horn Gear
It's amazing how much horn-related gear is within just a few feet of my practice chair.
I was thinking recently about all the horn-related gear that I’ve acquired over the years. It’s amazing how much is within just a few feet of my practice chair.

Here’s an inventory, starting at the left.
- Manhasset stand
- MacBook Pro
- Note-taking software called Bear, used for logging practice sessions
- Amadeus Lite, for practice recordings
- Korg KDM-3 digital metronome (I’ve been experimenting recently with using a separate metronome device instead of a phone app)
- Stand shelf
- JM lubricants
- Oil no. 13.5 for rotor bearing surfaces
- Oil no. 11 for inside the valves
- Slide grease no. 8
- Yeti stainless steel insulated bottle (critical!)
- JM lubricants
- AirPods Pro 2
- RODE Wireless Go receiver
- MacBook Pro
- Another Manhasset stand
- Mirror for watching face
- iPad Pro
- forScore (best-in-class software for maintaining and using a sheet music library on a tablet)
- Sight Singing Pro
- ZUGU iPad case
- Apple Pencil Pro
- iPhone 15 Pro
- TE Tuner and several other music-related apps
- Black towel (for water catching)
- Marcus Bonna MB5L case
- Miscellaneous oils, tools, and supplies for simple repairs
- Cough drops
- Bandages
- Battery pack, charger, and charge cable for the iPad (rarely needed because the iPad has a long battery life)
- Straight mute from Balu
- Stop mute from E&R Mash Horns
- Pageflip Firefly foot pedal (rarely needed because of the half-page-turn feature in forScore)
- Black microfiber towel
- Aaron Beck double horn, Geyer-style wrap
- Alexander hand strap
- Houghton mouthpiece
- H4 cup
- H1 18mm rim
- Soft Stand (love this!!)
There is even more gear behind the chair and out of the picture, including:
- Mic stand
- Leadpipe swab
- Embouchure visualizer
- Buzz pipe
